Zlata Kovaltchouk, MA, RPC

Zlata is the founder of Mindful Living GTA, and a practitioner/instructor at Spiritwind Centre. An expert at weaving the practice of mindfulness into her work, she offers drop-in yoga classes at Spiritwind, and additionally works with individuals privately offering counselling and mindfulness-based therapy, as well as private instruction in yoga and mindfulness meditation. Zlata is passionate about sharing the practice of mindfulness with others, and her gentle and accessible approach makes it easy to begin incorporating mindfulness practice into daily life and start experiencing its benefits.

Counselling and Psychotherapy:

Zlata’s compassionate and mindful approach to therapy focuses on helping individuals begin to take steps towards a meaningful and more fulfilling life. She does this by exploring what is truly meaningful in people’s lives, and identifying what inner obstacles keep them stuck and prevent them from moving in a valued life direction. She then uses mindfulness methods to teach how to begin relating differently to inner obstacles (such as thoughts, feelings, beliefs, judgments, etc.) so that they no longer get in the way of pursuing a rich, meaningful, and fulfilling life. Zlata has received extensive training in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), a mindfulness-based therapy approach that has been receiving attention for its effectiveness and unique take on mental health and well-being.


Zlata has received training in different styles of yoga, including Hatha/Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Restorative, and Kundalini, and enjoys incorporating these different styles into her yoga classes with an emphasis on mindfulness. Her yoga classes tend to be gentle and take on a slower pace, to allow for more mindful movement and deeper connection to the breath. Excellent for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. Zlata also offers private sessions for individuals and small groups, which are tailored to the unique needs of each student.

For those who are interested, private sessions are available that combine counselling, yoga and mindfulness meditation.
